One of my original heroes (whom I have neglected far too long now, I must ashamedly admit) has passed away yesterday.
Robert Anton Wilson (RAW) co-wrote a book that gave me what I think is the closest I've ever come to a drug-induced state. The Illumnatus Trilogy does that to you. Whether it was the chaotic swapping of point-of-view (sometimes mid-sentence) or the content itself (conspiracy theories intertwined with history and politics) I don't know, but after reading through the book in almost one sitting, I was left with a severe buzz.
He was very ill the last years of his life, and almost died in squalor because he didn't have enough money to even pay the rent. But an unprecedented internet collection raised enough for him to live out his remaining days in comfort and peace.
So Hail Eris, Hail Discordia! May you rest in peace wherever you are now Robert.
